As a former Christian Brother and former boarding student at the original St. Michael’s High next to El San Miguel Chapel I visited Santa Fe recently. I made sure to visit the Christian Brothers community next to St. Michael’s High to see if any of my former teachers were there and I had a wonderful visit with one of the Brothers in residence. The Brother didn’t think Tahoma’s work has been taken seriously in the art world and said it is referred to as “cartoonish”. Is he correct? If that is so, I have to disagree. I think Tahoma was ahead of his time and very talented; particularly applying his unique style to subject matter that is usually presented in a more “realistic” style. He also had a sense of humor. How valuable would these works be? Thank you. Chuck
