Quincy Tahoma painting on a mousepad
Post by Vera
We’ve been trotting around the web in the past week, and the nice thing about these virtual events is that you can STILL attend!
I’m going to share with you a terrific review of our book about Navajo artist Quincy Tahoma, but first here are some other places we’ve visited:
Gather, a web site for writers. Kerry Dexter did an interview with the two of us about writing a biography.
At Tour Absurd, Katrina Stovald’s site, you can see an article about Canyon de Chelly (My words, Charnell’s pictures).
At A Traveler’s Library, I wrote about four biographies of American Indians–Maria Martinez of San Ildefonso, Pop Chalee of Taos, Geronima Montoya of San Juan pueblo, and Navajo Annie Dodge Wauneka (and of course, Tahoma’s bio, too).
At Wandering Educators, Kerry Dexter mentioned the book about Tahoma in relationship to Indian music (a connection Tahoma would have enjoyed, since he loved music.)
AND A REVIEW!
Elizabeth Rose reviewed Quincy Tahoma: The Life and Legacy of a Navajo Artist in the Examiner.Com. Here is a taste of what she had to say:
Why You Will Enjoy This Book
“In this book, you will see Quincy Tahoma art never before shown. You’ll learn about the social history of the time when Tahoma painted and come away with a great appreciation for Native American art as well as the struggles experienced by the Navajo people.
The research is thorough, the authors are careful not to mislead…and the information is written in an engaging style.”
You can read the entire review by going to Examiner.com.
Become a reviewer yourself!! If you have read the Quincy Tahoma biography, be sure to share your thoughts, here, or on our Facebook page, or if you are a member of sites like Goodreads or Library Thing–tell your friends there as well. And by the way, although Amazon cannot sell our book (because they have not agreed to the no-discount policy) their resellers can–and one has it offered now. That means you can also review the book on Amazon. Be our guests. Come back and let us know here, or let us know on our Facebook page.
